In celebration of the rapidly approaching London 2012 Olympic Games and its partnership with Team GB and Paralympics GB, MINI has created a new short film that reimagines the classic 1969 movie “The Italian Job” on some of the capital’s most iconic landmarks such as the Houses of Parliament and the Olympic Stadium.

Cunningly named “The Britalian Job”, the film was directed by Phil Churchward, the lead director on BBC’s Top Gear TV Show and stars former Olympic champions Daley Thompson, James Cracknell, Jonathan Edwards and Matthew Pinsent, along with model Jodie Kidd who plays the thief on a motorcycle.

The storyline is based around the British sporting legends and their attempts to track down the perpetrator of a fictional nighttime heist of all the gold medals, a little over a month before the games begin.

The cars featured in the short film are the red, white and blue London 2012 special edition MINIs.
