Along with a fresh set of photographs of the Lamborghini Gallardo’s replacement, rumored to bear the “Cabrera” nameplate, our spies also secured around three-and-a-half minutes worth of video footage of the Italian supercar working its revised V10 engine on the Nürburgring circuit in Germany.

We can’t tell you how fast the car’s going, but we will say that the 10-cylinder mill sounds just like what you’d expect from a Lamborghini, perhaps even a tad deeper and angrier than the Gallardo, or in other words, delicious…

Structurally, mechanically and technologically, the new Cabrera is related to the next iteration of the Audi R8 that’s scheduled for a 2015 introduction.

It will be lighter than the Gallardo, while the updated version of Lamborghini’s naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 petrol engine will be more powerful, thus promising improved performance numbers.
