Most of you will recall the debacle over the Nissan GT-R’s Launch Control system that had led to blown transmissions and voided warranties during the first years the coupe was in the market, before the Japanese carmaker addressed a lawsuit and the problem at hand through a software reprogramming.

The reason why we mention it is that Launch Control systems can place a lot of stress on a car’s powertrain, especially when used repeatedly, overheating a number of components like the clutch.

Some automakers go as far as to warn drivers about how many times they should use the Launch Control and that overdoing it could void the warranty.

So, all this leads us to the latest iteration of the Porsche 911 Turbo and to an interesting stress-test performed by Road&Track magazine. We won’t tell you what happened because you can find out for yourself by watching the video below the break.
