A fire that broke out at an Herb Chambers Land Rover dealership in Sudbury, Massachusetts, just after 1 a.m. on Monday,  devoured 20 luxury vehicles.

No one was injured from the blaze that occurred at the back of the JLR lot where some of the cars were parked for repairs, WBZ-TV reported.

A passerby who saw the flames at the dealership alerted the Sudbury Fire Department.

Asked by WCVB why the fire spread so quickly, Sudbury Fire chief William Miles explained: “If you have ever seen one car burn, cars are made of a lot of plastic these days. Some of the gasoline tanks got going, so it was quite a fire.”

Firefighters couldn’t tell whether the cars were new or used.

“Some of the cars were so badly damaged that it’s difficult to tell just what kind of cars they are,” Miles told CBS Local. “So I’m going to say some were new cars and some were not.”

At this point, authorities are investigating the cause and origin of the fire to see if it was set on purpose or not.
