What would you do if your vehicle’s reverse gear went bust? Well, you’d try to fix the transmission, obviously, but what would you do in the meantime?

YouTube uploader “hexdyde24” came up with an emergency reverse system until he gets his Nissan Pathfinder’s gearbox repaired.

Basically, his solution follows the same principle of two meshing gears that turn in opposite directions (try it yourself with two water or beverage caps) using threaded rods that go through thin metal pipes that are then installed inside double PVCs with nuts attached to chains which are then hooked up on the truck’s frame.

“I have tested it on dirt, asphalt, and concrete,” says hexdude24, and to prove it, he’s supplied the following videos.
