While the verdict is still out on the new turbocharged powertrain, I think most of us can agree that Ferrari’s Styling Center pretty much nailed it with the 488 GTB’s design.

Gearheads can tell it has its roots in the 458 Italia, but in good old fashion / Italian way with the intricately sculptural forms and hunkered down appearance preparing you for what’s to come once you sit inside in the redesigned interior and hit the start button.

One of the great things about the 488 GTB’s predecessor was the naturally-aspirated V8’s soundtrack, which has now been replaced by a new, 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8 delivering 670PS (661hp) at 8,000 rpm and 760Nm (560lb-ft) of torque, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch auto box.

According to Ferrari, the new force-fed mill will not disappoint in the audio department offering a “deep, seductive soundtrack, the signature of all Ferrari engines”. We shall see…
