If you’re looking for a Texas tune-job and the word ‘Hennessey‘ doesn’t cross your mind, you better go back to Google and do some more searches.

Watching the boss himself take this car for a ride is somewhat of a comforting sight, especially since the HPE700 upgrade isn’t something that’s bound to get you back in the shop for repairs. Hennessey even offers a 3 year/36,000 mile warranty.

But so they should, because you’d have already spent $17,950 on the kit – which features a bigger 2.9L supercharger, modified air induction, fuel injectors and pump, with an ECU-turning 717HP running through that powertrain.

Off the line, you’ll be doing 60 mph (96km/h) in just 3.6 seconds and hit the 1/4 mile mark in 11.2 seconds at 131 mph (211km/h).

As for what you’re putting down, the HPE700’s dyno run recorded 633 RWHP and 525 lb-ft of torque, which pretty much mirrors what you’d get in the Challenger SRT Hellcat. Of course, if you’re interested in flat out numbers, as John Hennessey himself was, know that 195 mph (314 km/h) are within your reach.

Watching this video and trying to make out everything John was saying because of the loud engine noise was both annoying as well as impressive.

One of the most interesting things he said was that this particular car scored 646 RWHP on the dyno, which is better than their previous runs.
