Mercedes Integrates Apple Watch Into Its Nav-Systems For Door-to-Door Experience

Mercedes-Benz has introduced the new MB Companion app for the latest Apple wearable gadget.

The new app, which is also available for iPhones, allows the driver to search for directions from his device which then are sent to the car’s navigation system, seamlessly integrating the route guidance experience.

The Apple Watch gives walking instructions to the car where the navigation system takes over with driving directions and then the smartwatch gives again the final walking directions from the car to the final destination.

The integration is compatible with Mercedes’ COMAND Online system, used by the C-Class and the S-Class and will be fully working as of fall this year, with other models to follow soon. The MB Companion app will also provide drivers with information like fuel level, range, maintenance codes and odometer readings on the Apple Watch.

I respectfully disagree. If they were why is it taking so long to get a cradle for iPhone 6? Also so far they only have one apple watch app for the i3 and their remote app is garbage.

Everyone will die of cancer because of all this wifi garbage. How many piecies of technology does someone need before they can leave the house? Seriously…cars keys should be enough.

    • Status

      Cars don’t need keys anymore.

  • Nordschleife

This is cool but not enough to make me buy an apple watch.

    • BlackPegasus

Agreed. I’ve been waiting on Apple to convince me why I should part with my money for an Apple Watch. Thus far, they’ve failed. I have every other Apple gadget under the sun, but I can see no practical use for the Watch.

      • Nordschleife

Agreed. I like you have every other Apple gadget but the watch doesn’t entice me in the least.

        • Bob

I bought the watch and generally agree with all of you. It can’t be far from the iPhone and the iPhone does more so why have it. I’ll say the one thing that keeps me wearing it is the activity and workout apps both of which work quite well.

          • BlackPegasus

Bob, the workout apps is something I both want and need, but there are other devices that performs with decent results for a valued price point. I just don’t wanna look like a narcissist prick wearing some expensive gadget.
