Mercedes-Benz has introduced the new MB Companion app for the latest Apple wearable gadget.

The new app, which is also available for iPhones, allows the driver to search for directions from his device which then are sent to the car’s navigation system, seamlessly integrating the route guidance experience.

The Apple Watch gives walking instructions to the car where the navigation system takes over with driving directions and then the smartwatch gives again the final walking directions from the car to the final destination.

The integration is compatible with Mercedes’ COMAND Online system, used by the C-Class and the S-Class and will be fully working as of fall this year, with other models to follow soon. The MB Companion app will also provide drivers with information like fuel level, range, maintenance codes and odometer readings on the Apple Watch.
