We all have heard at some point about Fiat’s rich motorsport history which unfortunately is minimal these days.

The little Fiat 1100 Stanguellini is part of that history and Fabrizio Lorenzoni spoke to Petrolicious about his little race car which is in the family since 1955 but was never raced until 1977, where he competed in the local Parma-Poggio di Berceto road race.

It started its life as an open-wheeler ‘torpedo’ car but in order to be allowed entry in different events, its wheels needed to be covered so a local craftsman designed the fenders for the car, making unique at the time.

Nicknamed ‘Micia’ after the first owner’s wife, when she allowed him to compete in the famous Mille Miglia race, this 1100 Stanguellini still enters racing events with Fabrizio at the wheel.
