Having a V8 engine under the hood of your car doesn’t necessarily incur a hefty efficiency penalty and CNET put together a list of the most frugal ones available in the US.
The choice of vehicles ignores hybrids and diesels, and you wouldn’t expect them to be performers in this area.
Of their top five, only one car is not German and it ranks highest on the list, but when you look at the figures you begin to see why that is. The car in question is the latest Corvette, the car with the best power to weight ratio of the selection and slipperiest drag coefficient too.
Now that we’ve seen this (video posted below), we realize it would be interesting to also have a listing of the least efficient V8 cars on sale, excluding hybrids, diesels.
