The new Ford Mustang EcoBoost has caught the attention of the aftermarket specialists at Shelby American, who decided to offer a tuning kit for the four-cylinder model.

The Shelby GT version of the 2015-2016 Ford Mustang EcoBoost brings more power, sharper handling, better brakes and styling upgrades.

Available for both automatic and manual transmission versions of the car, the tuning package will launch this fall, just after its debut at the Goodwood Revival – yes, Shelby American is officially coming to Europe.

Performance upgrades include uprated handling, engine tune and a Shelby tuned BORLA Performance exhaust. The result is over 335 horsepower on 91 octane fuel (25hp more than the stock car) and “significantly better handling.” Shelby also throws in 20-inch Venice WELD Racing wheels (9.5”x20) in 3 choices: Polished, Machined Black and Black. The wheels come with Michelin Pilot Sport 275-35ZR20 tires.

Styling-wise, the Shelby GT EcoBoost gets carbon fiber elements including the front splitter, hood, rear spoiler, grilles and rocker panel. The model also comes with a Shelby GT striping and badging kit including C-pillar, rear deck lid, faux gas cap and taillight panel.

Inside, Shelby has added a serial number dash plaque, embroidery in headrests, carpeted floor mats and lit door sills.

The list of optional extras is extensive and includes a carbon fiber hood extension, carbon fiber mirror covers, Katzkin interior upgrade, roll cage, Sparco race seats with 5-point harness and Willwood 6-piston front brakes, 4-piston rear brakes, among other things.

Now for the less pleasant part, the Shelby GT EcoBoost pack has a starting price of $23,995, not including the base EcoBoost Mustang which starts from $25,395. Add these up and you can buy a 526hp Shelby GT350 instead – it’s priced from $47,795.
