The new Toyota RAV4 is now available for order in the UK in nine different grades, with a Hybrid model added for the very first time.

The RAV4 Hybrid combines a 2.5-liter petrol engine with an electric motor and is available in three trims, Business Edition Plus, Icon and Excel, with the most affordable one starting from £26,195 and the most expensive setting its future customers back for £30,795.

Besides the hybrid, Toyota also offers the new RAV4 with the regular 2.0-liter petrol and diesel engines, with front- and all-wheel drive options, in five grades: Active, Business Edition, Business Edition Plus, Icon and the Excel, replacing the previous Invincible.

The entry-level models offers the 2.0 D-4D diesel engine and comes in standard with the Toyota Touch 2 multimedia system with touchscreen, cruise control, leather-wrapped steering wheel, six-speaker audio system with DAB radio, AC and sunglasses holder. On top of that, the trim  adds rear privacy glass, LED DRLs, electric door mirrors and 17-inch alloy wheels.

Choose the RAV4 Business Edition and you will get the same 2.0-liter diesel engine, which gains front and rear underruns. The Toyota Touch 2 with Go navigation and on-board connectivity is added to this version, along with the dual-zone automatic AC, rearview camera, auto-dimming rearview mirror, automatic headlights, front fog lamps and retractable door mirrors.

The Business Edition Plus is offered exclusively as a FWD hybrid and comes with keyless entry, push-button start, power tailgate and LED front and rear lights. The Icon adds the 18-inch machined-finish alloy wheels, LED headlights, electrically adjustable driver’s seat, Alcantara and leather upholstery, heated front seats and Alcantara dashboard finish. These two models also get the optional upgrade to “Go” status with sat-nav and connectivity functions on the Toyota Touch 2. The Excel adds the plus leather upholstery, Toyota Touch 2 with Go package, front and rear parking sensors and roof rails.

Toyota adds the Safety Sense as an option, from £695, on all variants except from the Active grade. This includes the radar-controlled Pre-Collision System working together with a Pre-Collision Brake and Brake Assist to detect vehicles and pedestrians and alert the driver to imminent risk of collision, applying the brakes if the driver fails to react.
