Ultra-Rare Koenigsegg Agera R Damaged In Chinese Crash

A Koenigsegg Agera R was left with severe marks on its front end after it met face-to-face with a guardrail.

The incident happened in the city of Chongqing in China, and as you can see from the images, the hypercar misses its front bumper and it seems to have a damaged suspension as well. On top of that, a liquid was leaking from underneath it.

Chinese media reports that speed was probably involved, but exactly how its carbon fiber body ended up looking like this remains unknown for now. Happily, no one was injured, except probably for the driver’s ego.

The owner of this Koenigsegg Agera R is no stranger to exotic models as he also has a Ferrari LaFerrari, a Porsche 918 Spyder and a McLaren P1 in his collection, but it’s not known if he was behind the wheel of the Swedish hypercar at the moment of impact.

The Koenigsegg Agera R used to cost the equivalent of $4.18 million in China, due to the expensive luxury tax, compared to the original £1.1 million ($1.65 million) list price in Great Britain. The powerful machine uses a 5.0-liter V8 engine under its hood, rated at 1,140PS (1,124hp) and 1,200Nm (885lb-ft) of torque, enough for a 0-100km/h (62mph) acceleration made in 2.8sec and an alleged top speed of up to 440km/h (273mph).
