Vilner Puts Its Touch On Chinese Mini Convertible

Described as the most eccentric Mini in the universe, this R57 was customized by Vilner’s recently inaugurated Chinese division.

Commissioned in Beijing by young actress Tyan Lynn to reflect her sensuality (as Vilner puts it) and her “Success can be limitless, just like the Universe” motto, the Mini carries the cosmos motif through color and materials. In fact, at first glance, this vehicle doesn’t appear to be an over the top project, but its overwhelming attention to detail says otherwise.

The interior was garnished with pure gold elements, such as the hand crafted icons on the buttons under the speedometer, while others – like the he roll-bars behind the heads of the rear occupants – received golf plating. The actress, apparently insisted for all the cutting and graving of the icons to be done by hand.

The Universe theme visible on the dashboard and steering wheel is the result of 25 special layers of coating and lacquer added over the plastic dash elements. But the car’s eccentricity doesn’t stop here, as the hue combination found on the interior mirrors Tyan Lynn’s style.

Using leather and Alcantara to create a bespoke atmosphere, the purple color chosen for the cabin is a representation of the “sweetness of like”, while blue stands for “the vastness of the human soul”. To contrast and complement the darkened colors, white has been used for the stitching and the seat belts – a combination which reflects the vehicle’s exterior.
