Seeing a car get damaged, even in a minor way, is never something enjoyable. After all, many cars are the prized possessions of their owners who’ve worked tirelessly to afford them, whether that’s a small hatchback right through to the world’s leading hypercars.

In the latter case, seeing such vehicles damaged is particularly heartbreaking and recently, a stunning silver Porsche 918 Spyder had a small run in with a large sign.

It isn’t known where this video was filmed but it shows the moment that a strong gust of wind pushed the sign onto the side of the 918 Spyder as it was meandering forward. While most of the sponsorship sign is made from fabric, it does have a steel surround and unfortunately, that frame hit the expensive bodywork of the 918.

Most significantly, we can see the top support of the sign falling straight onto the roof of the 918. While the video doesn’t showing how much damage was caused, it’s inevitable that the metal scratched and perhaps even dented the roof. Additionally, we can see the sides of the sign hitting both the front and rear quarter panels.

In the scheme of things, this is a very minor incident involving the 918. Nevertheless, it is still quite difficult to watch.
