At the Paris show in September, Renault will reveal a new sports car concept that will be the first example of its new design language.

This will be the first in a series of concepts that will come in order to introduce the brand’s new direction, as the company’s design chief Laurens van den Acker told AutoNews.

This practice has been used in the past, too: in 2010 Renault revealed the DeZir concept, followed by five more that previewed the styling featured in its current range.

The new series is supposed of concepts will represent the “stages of life”‘ the sports car concept for example, will represent falling in love. “It will not be very practical, but love isn’t”, said van den Acker…

He did point out, however, that we shouldn’t expect a major redesign of the brand’s characteristic front end. “It took us so long to find a face. I’m not sure we could go through the agony again,” he explained. He also said that the brand’s previous strategy of “permanent revolution” didn’t result in the improved image they had hoped for, with the current look bringing a welcome consistency to the range.
