Stadium Super Truck driver Pat O’Keefe went airborn last weekend during the 2016 Long Beach race, with the fence separating the track and the stands coming away as the real MVP.

Luckily nobody was injured (except for the high-powered truck) and the video below shows the incident from multiple camera angles, giving you a really good idea of what happened.

The tall fence did its job keeping everybody safe but as far as finding a reason why this happened, all we can do is point to the fact that as soon as O’Keefe’s truck hit the first ramp, it started going slightly to the left, which in turn caused him to course-correct as soon as the wheels touched back down.

Upon correction, the truck started skidding towards the next ramp which launched it in the air and into the fence violently.

What’s impressive is how efficiently the trailing driver managed to stop in time to avoid a collision with the overturned truck. In fact, if you look closely you’ll see him braking his truck the second he saw O’Keefe going sideways.
