While the BMW X5 is certainly not a “regular” when it comes to custom wheel photo shoots, this Carbon Schwarz Metallic X50d xDrive version deserves some consideration.

The project was completed by Ukrainian company Tuning & Services, who strapped a set of ADV12 M.V2 Standard Series wheels onto the X5. They measure 21×10.5 at the front and 21×11.5 at the rear and come with a Matte Gold finish.

When it’s not busy posing for the camera, this X5 M50d is the type of car that can push its way to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 5.3 seconds. The reason why it’s so quick (for a 2,265 kg/4,993 lbs car that is) is its 3.0-liter inline-six cylinder diesel engine, rated at 381 PS (375 HP) and 740 Nm (545 lb-ft) of torque.

To put these types of numbers into perspective, consider that the more powerful X5 xDrive50i version is quicker to 100 km/h by just 0.4 seconds. The Audi SQ7 is another good example – it’s only half a second quicker to 100km/h than the X5 M50d, despite having no fewer than 435 PS (429 lb-ft) and 900 Nm (663 lb-ft) of torque.

Of course, the X5 M50d could get even faster in the near future if BMW will implement their new quad-turbocharged in-line six diesel unit into more than just one model (750d xDrive). We’re quite curious to see what this car could do with 400 PS and 760 Nm (560 lb-ft) of torque at its disposal.
