Launching the Kwid in Europe is still uncertain, but even so another example has been scooped out in the open.

Unlike the previous prototype, which was wrapped under vinyl stickers, this one looks just about ready to hit the showrooms. However, its right-hand drive layout contributes to our skepticism and the fact that it seems to be in the base guise doesn’t help either.

The cheapest version of the Renault Kwid in India is quite spartan and it doesn’t even have any airbags, not to mention ABS, ESP or the all-common AC and electric windows that we take for granted. Perhaps Renault is conducting some tests on the streets of Paris, where these images were taken the French Top Gear presenter, Yann Larret-Menezo.

In the off chance Renault decides to sell the Kwid in Europe its engineers have to deploy all forces into the safety front, for the a city car that scored 0 (zero!) stars when it was crash-tested by Global NCAP last month. This, simply, won’t entice customers nor will it be beneficial to the brand’s image.
