As if trying to decide what to build next wasn’t enough, Automotive News reports that Bentley is exploring the possibility of offering a new saloon based on the Mulsanne that would be positioned above the already luxurious, $298,000 flagship.

The derivative won’t share the Mulsanne name and it will be produced in very limited numbers, ranging from 50 to 100 units in total, as Rolf Frech, Bentley’s board member for engineering said.

“That doesn’t mean we then have to make a bigger car than the Mulsanne. But maybe there are some possibilities for additional edges in this exclusive realm.”

Just how exclusive can Bentley get remains to be seen, considering that its bespoke division, Mulliner, already ensures Mulsanne customers can get any all their wishes fulfilled.

Even so, apart from this option, Bentley is currently considering both a second SUV and an EXP 10 Speed 6-based sports car, so the powers-that-be at Crewe must be quite busy right now. The coupe is a cert, since Frech has gone on record saying that the Speed 6 is not a matter of if, but when it will be introduced, so we’ll be waiting for confirmation on what they will green-light next.
