Often named one of the finest supercars ever, the F40 is held in the highest esteem by automotive connoisseurs.

Produced in just a little over 1,300 units and featuring an appealing design, driver-focused cockpit and a twin-turbo V8 that is still capable to put dust on some of the modern high-performance machines, the exotic usually changes hands for $1.5 million or more.

However, since not many can afford to pay a seven-figure sum for the original Prancing Horse, an ad posted on Craigslist offers a replica, which is somewhat decent, with attention paid to detail, for just two percent of that amount.

Not that its $34,888 asking price is cheap, especially considering that a brand new Ford Focus RS costs $35,500.

Just like other Ferrari clones out there, it is based on a Pontiac Fiero, a 1985 GT to be more specific, and features metric gauges, 5-point harness restraints and metal foot pedals.

It lacks power steering and power brakes, but it is said to be “a pleasure to cruise around” as it “runs and drives well”. Power comes from a Pontiac V6 engine, mated to the original 4-speed manual transmission, and during its lifetime, it traveled for 110,200 km (68,475 miles), which can apparently be verified with the right paperwork that accompanies the car.
