Mazda6 Gets Updated Equipment For 2017 [46 Pics]

The Mazda3 isn’t the only model from the Zoom-Zoom brand to have been updated for the 2017 model year. So has its bigger brother, the Mazda6. But since the sedan just underwent a facelift last year, the shape remains the same while the equipment underneath is upgraded.

Like the smaller model, the 2017 Mazda6 benefits from the Japanese automaker’s trick new G-Vectoring Control system. Part of Mazda’s emerging Skyactiv Vehicle Dynamics suite, the system coordinates between the engine, transmission and suspension to offer more integrated response and reduce the need for steering corrections.

The engineers also toiled to improve build quality and reduce noise, vibration and harshness to make the 6 a more comfortable ride capable of giving more upscale sedans a run for their premium price tags. There’s new Nappa leather available inside as well, along with numerous optional premium touches.

A new full-color Active Driving Display and 4.6-inch digital instrument display work with the new Traffic Sign Recognition, Lane-Keep Assist and Advanced Blind Spot Monitoring to keep the Mazda6 up with the competition.

Power still comes from a 2.5-liter inline-four rated at 184 horsepower and mated to either an automatic or manual transmission. Along with the smaller 3, the new 6 reaches dealers across the United States in September, by which time we expect to have full pricing information for you.
