Even though the all-new 5-Series GT remains fully camouflaged, this time our spy photographers managed to get a sneak peak inside its cabin.

What seems to be visually a sleeker car than its predecessor, the new 5 GT will obviously come with a new interior as well. As far as we can tell, the dashboard design seems to resemble that of the all-new 7-Series, culminating with a new steering wheel design that’s also found on the automaker’s flagship luxury saloon.

The exterior of the car should reflect its weight loss regime, as BMW will be looking to make the new 5 GT a more fun to drive and fuel efficient car.

Speaking of fuel efficiency, while engine options remain unknown, it should receive a wide range of turbocharged four- and six-cylinder gasoline and diesels, and V8 turbocharged gasoline mills, alongside a plug-in hybrid version, all paired to automatics with the option of all-wheel drive

Those of you that don’t want a repeat of BMW’s current 5-Series GT in terms of aesthetics, need only look at the lines of this new generation model in order to spot some similarities with both the 3-Series GT as well as the 4-Series Gran Coupe.

The new 5-Series GT is expected to arrive either in late 2016 or early 2017.
