With customer deliveries set to begin next January, Volkswagen has announced prices for the facelifted Amarok, in the United Kingdom.

Offered in four flavors, from the entry-level Trendline to the range-topping Aventura, the German workhorse carries a starting price of £32,493 ($40,532), tax included, for the base version, which features rearview camera, Park Pilot, Automatic Post-Collision Braking System, and ESP.

Head for the best offering in the updated Amarok family and you will have to pay at least £39,381 ($49,124). This variant adds bi-xenon headlights with LED DRLs, 19-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 255/55 tires, wheel arch extensions, matte black Durabed coating for the bed, front and rear parking sensors, Discover Media navigation system, and an exclusive Ravenna Blue metallic paint finish.

At its heart, the 2017 Volkswagen Amarok has a 3.0-liter V6 TDI diesel engine, which replaces the previous 2.0-liter TDI and delivers, in its top-of-the-line version, 224 PS (221 HP) and 550 Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque to the wheels, through a standard 8-speed automatic gearbox. With overboost,  output climbs to 240 PS (237 HP). VW claims that it can go from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 8.0 seconds and up to a top speed of 119 mph (192 km/h).

Other variations of the V6 TDI include a 204 PS (201 HP) version, available with an automatic gearbox, but the lineup will expand with a manual transmission offering for the 204 PS (201 HP) model, along with a new entry-level, poised to get only 163 PS (161 HP), and a manual gearbox, from next year.
