Here’s Callaway’s Corvette AeroWagen In The Flesh!

Almost four years since being rendered, the first images of a real-life Chevrolet Corvette Callaway AeroWagen have emerged.

A bright red Callaway AeroWagen recently hit the pavement at Chuckwalla Valley Raceway as part of a TV commercial for Mothers and looks pretty much identical to the initial renderings of the car.

As part of the transformations, the Corvette’s rear window has been scrapped in favour of an elongated roof which stretches to the rear of the car. A small, heavily raked window has then been installed where it meets with the lip spoiler. The sides of the new roof construction also have a special AeroWagen logo on them.

According to Corvette Blogger, the Callaway AeroWagen will be officially unveiled at the National Corvette Museum between April 27-29th as part of the museum’s annual Michelin-sponsored Bash.

The AeroWagen hatch itself has been designed to fit on all C7-generation Corvette models and is priced from $14,990. If the owner wants it to match the color of the car, that’ll be an extra $2,980 while a further $1,995 can be spent on the optional ‘AeroSpoiler’.

pretty cool. i would think a huge amount of work went into creating this.

    I’m ready for the C8.

  • BlackPegasus

    Okay 😳

  • Matt

It just doesn’t look that good. In fact, it makes the C7 look even more like a plastic kit-car than it already did.

    Now working for me.

  • Mynameis Taylor

    There’s nothing sophisticated about it.

  • SteersUright

Pretty cool, doesn’t look finished though. From some angles I’m loving it, from others it reminds me of CRX or a plastic hardtop for a convertible. Still, a cool effort.

That car has way too many holes, black details etc. Looks messy

wagon? how exactly? i doubt there much you can carry around in there.

  • Auf Wiedersehen

AeroWagen?? That’s the best you could come up with??

  • nastinupe

And why didn’t they show us how much space it has in the back for storage. Since that’s kind of the reason why they made it. I’m sure that people are curious as to actually seeing the improved cargo area and perhaps some specs on the area.

    Sweet Jesus! It’s real!

  • benT

    surely, in the metal?

1/4 of the car price for a trunk door and adding up to 2 inches vertical space? #crackpipe

“The result is a two-door shooting brake that makes for more practicality and extremely unique looks.”

No, it makes for more practicality and extremely UNUSUAL looks.

Unique is an absolute, which means means there are no shades, variations or degrees of uniqueness.

You cannot be a little dead, you cannot be mostly pregnant, and a car is either unique or it is not.
The confusion with this word is common among those with no formal training in, or intimate knowledge of, proper English grammar.

    • Enter Ranting

I think the same could be said of unusual.

  • KidRed

Weird rear window is weird. If that was more upright, less forward slanted, it might look better. As it stands, it just doesn’t look right with all the straight, hard cutting lines.

  • Mikey

Amazing. Maybe open the damn thing next time. Cause now it just looks like a rice-burnered up vett with no particular purpose in life.
