A Maybach Smart Fortwo Would Be A Funny Little Dude

While this remains unlikely, applying the Maybach formula to something like the tiny Smart Fortwo could theoretically open up a new market.

Oh, who are we fooling – just ask Aston Martin and their Cygnet how that went down…

This particular render was drawn up by Peisert Design, the same person who brought us the Tesla all-electric truck and more recently, the four-door AMG GT render.

It kinda looks believable as a Mercedes-Maybach product with massive wheels, LED lights, carbon fiber on the doors and around the rear window. As for the interior, all we can say is that those are some mighty large displays for such a small cabin.

Given how much everyone misses the much loved Aston Cygnet. No one should make cars like this 🙂

    • hi stephen, i think when aston released the cygnet, it was not really taken serious, it was more or less an attempt to decrease their fleet co2 emissions, and the iq was not really a good base to start with. aston martin clients dont want to drive around in a rebadged toyota, but if you consider smart (owned by daimler) its a really good car for what it is. the maybach brand is more an edition than a standalone car, if done right, with interesting technology and excelent quality i bet they would sell a ton of these. the car should actually come for free if you order a s maybaxh or a g landaulet 🙂

Very good work on the render my friend,I love the interior. I hope i didn’t come off insulting, was just taking a wee. I forgot about the angle on making the Cygnet. I actually thought it was not bad looking, but a ridiculous proposition. I very much like the looks of the current four four, but to make it up to maybach snuff would almost have to push it to a silly price point. I feel this stuff is best left to tuners. Lol they should throw one in, hooked up on a trailer behind your G landau 🙂

I loved the IDEA of an Aston Cygnet.

It’s obviously not easy to make a really good tiny car. I think the first company that does will be shocked by how popular they can be. I would have bought a SmartCar or an iQ if either one were even semi-good.

Maybe Mercedes should initiate a test balloon and others will follow suit. If they start one like this, with a very limited production numbers, I think they’ll create a new market (given the quality and performance are not compromised). Just like what happened with SUVs. Few years ago, not all companies thought of it as a worthwhile investment, but now, most German & British car-makers are competing to eat from the SUV pie.
