Hyundai’s first genuine hot hatch is just a few days away from its official reveal and the company released another pair of videos to get us hyped about it.

The Korean company also wants us to know how hard they’ve worked to turn the i30 into a proper performer, with its development taking place at the Nurburgring, the British b-roads and on the Swedish ice, with WRC driver Thierry Neuville also being a member of the test team.

Power will reportedly come from a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine, which will be offered in two different versions – 250PS (246hp) and 275PS (271hp). A six-speed manual gearbox will be standard, with a dual-clutch option still to be confirmed.

The uprated chassis will benefit from a beefier suspension with adjustable dampers and a limited-slip differential. Together with the bigger brakes and wheels, the new Hyundai i30 N is expected to give the VW Golf GTI a run for its money.

The bodywork will feature a more aggressive look, albeit one that’s more subtle that the Honda Civic Type-R. A pair of new bumpers, bigger air intakes and a rear wing-diffuser combo is what we expect to see. Stay tuned for the reveal of the new Hyundai i30 N on July 13.
