Norwegian taxi driver Evald Jåstad has become somewhat of a local legend, all thanks to the Ford Focus RS he uses to ferry locals and visitors around.

Jåstad has been using his Focus RS as a taxi for the past 18 months and in that time, has covered an impressive 127,000 km through the stunning surrounds near Odda, Norway.

Locals have nicknamed the Focus ‘Blue Lightning’ and it certainly looks the part. Beyond the blue paint, stickers and taxi light on the roof, Jåstad has also equipped his hot hatch with a set of rally-style white wheels and mudguards.

Being a Focus, the car is more than practical enough to carry up to four passengers, plus luggage. What’s more, it also acts as a thrilling working environment, allowing Jåstad to enjoy the class-leading handling offered by the car, while also providing his customers with the thrill of a lifetime.

Powered by a 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine, the Focus RS delivers a healthy 350 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque to all four wheels. When combined with an advanced all-wheel drive system and a six-speed manual transmission, 0-62 mph can be achieved in a brisk 4.7 seconds. That’s a hell of a lot quicker than most taxis.
