The company may not bear his name like those founded by Enzo Ferrari, Bruce McLaren, or Ferdinand Porsche, yet Lotus was founded by Colin Chapman and will forever remain tied to his legacy. It’s only fitting, then, that some seven decades years since its establishment, his son has taken delivery of the company’s latest sports car.

CEO Jean-Marc Gales personally delivered the Evora GT410 Sport to Clive Chapman. He’s not only the founder’s son, but also the director of Classic Team Lotus.

Clive chose a deep Empire Green for his GT410 Sport. The 2+2 coupe packs a 3.5-liter supercharged V6 upgraded to 410 HP (416 PS/306 kW) and 309 lb-ft (420 Nm) of torque. It can be had with a six-speed manual or automatic transmission and features a Torsen limited slip differential.

It also boasts 50 percent more downforce over the previous Evora Sport 410. Though slightly less extreme than the GT430, the GT410 hustles to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 3.9 seconds (with the automatic, 4.0 with the manual) and tops out at 190 mph (305 km/h).

The younger Chapman will drive the car across the UK and Europe as he and the rest of the Classic Team Lotus run their fleet of historic racing cars at vintage motorsport events.

“Remaining close to the Lotus sports cars of today is important to me and my family,” said Clive Champman. “To be able to appreciate just how far the brand has developed and how advanced the cars are is a privilege. I’m proud to be behind the wheel of a Lotus sports car and I’m looking forward to the miles ahead.”
