Porsche 911 GT3 RS Goes Too Fast, Ends Up On Patch Of Grass

Car aficionados who gathered at the Zoute Grand Prix GT Tour in Belgium this weekend witnessed an incident that involved a Porsche 911 GT3 RS.

The rear-engined, rear-wheel drive German sports car was filmed running down an improvised course.

Somehow, the 911 GT3 RS driver carried way too much speed and instead of making that left hairpin, he simply went off the road and into a patch of grass.

But it doesn’t end here, as a man gave a helping hand in setting the sports car free. As for the person sitting behind the wheel, well, he couldn’t be bothered in exiting the vehicle and checking for any damages. Thus, he just took off as if nothing happened, all while bits of grass were hanging loose from the Porsche’s bodywork.

The good thing is that no one was hurt and that the car shouldn’t need any serious work. Plus, while this incident is cringe-inducing, it pales next to another starring a 911 GT3 RS that was subjected to an intended off-road adventure.

  • Callanish

I screwed up by coming in too hot and then took it out on the car for not defying the laws of physics.

That car could have made the corner, the error was in turning to the corner before the car was slowed sufficiently to make the turn. You have to get your stopping done in a straight line THEN turn in. There was plenty of brake left as the ABS was not even kicked in. Yes, I’ve been an HPDE Instructor since 1996….in case you were wondering.

      • Callanish

True. That was all on the driver. His bad driving just made the GT3 RS look bad.

  • Six_Tymes

dont these people take racing lessons?

    • Matt

You don’t need ‘racing lessons’ to take a corner. He just misjudged his speed and the entry point.

In the racing schools (bring your own car) that I have been to, I would say 95% of the non race prepped cars were worth less then $6k, next 4% are newer Mustangs/Camaros/Vettes. Then there is the one rich dude that is actually intelligent and learing to drive his McLaren 650S in the beginer group. << Respect to that guy for actually learning to handle his car!

Ummm..poor choice of title for this article. The Porsche did not go “Too Fast”. The Driver ran out of talent.

    • Matt

Ran out of talent by going too fast for the corner. Title stacks up.

Also didn’t seem to notice the surface changed to dirt.

Goes too fast? Errrrrr… how about driver can’t drive.
