The following 2017 Cadillac CTS-V listed for sale on Copart looks very droopy, but it could sell for a bargain-basement price. Question is, is it worth the hassle?

The listing for the super-sedan reveals that it is being sold with a salvage title and images reveal that it has suffered damage on both sides as well as the front and rear. As is typical of these listings, it’s not known exactly how the car ended up like this, but it seems as though the powertrain has remained undamaged.

Cadillac may have recently axed production of the CTS-V, but the car remains exceptionally desirable, particularly thanks to its 640 HP, 6.2-liter supercharged V8. Mated to the powerplant is an 8-speed automatic transmission sending power to the rear wheels and helping the sedan accelerate to 100 km/h (62 mph) in a brisk 3.7 seconds before topping out at 320 km/h (199 mph). Not even the latest BMW M5 Competition or Mercedes-AMG E63 S have as much power as the Cadillac.

At the time of writing, the highest bid on the car was resting at $12,000. If it stays around that number, it could prove to be a good deal for someone handy who knows his way around cars and has access to parts, especially when you consider that the odo shows just 13,812 miles (22,228 km) on it.

However, given some obvious costly mechanical damages beyond the body panels such as the twisted suspension and other components, plus the possibility of a bent chassis, this isn’t a DIY weekend project for the faint-hearted.
