Ferrari has released a teaser image of the hybrid supercar it will unveil on May 29.

The car, currently codenamed F173, promises to be one of the most exciting cars released by the Italian car manufacturer in recent memory. While the car is tipped to be loaded with advanced technologies, this teaser image suggests that it will have quite a retro design.

This teaser previews the rear of the supercar and shows off a pair of centrally-mounted tailpipes previously seen in various prototype testing near Maranello. Additionally, the teaser shows that the car will have four taillights but instead of the round lights found on other models, like the F8 Tributo, the F178’s lights have more of a square shape and give off a very 1980s vibe.

Recent reports suggest that the new Ferrari will be powered by a 3.9-liter twin-turbocharged V8 assisted by three electric motors. Total output will sit at approximately 986 hp with two of the electric motors powering the front axle while the third will be integrated into the transmission, giving the car all-wheel drive. It is possible that the car could accelerate to 62 mph (100 km/h) in as little as 2-seconds flat.

While the new Ferrari will have more power than the LaFerrari, it won’t be a direct successor to the hybrid hypercar but instead carve out a new niche in the market and sit above the F8 Tributo and the 812 Superfast in Ferrari’s family.
