2020 Nissan Juke Is Such A Tease, Debuts September 3 (Updated)

Nissan has released a third dark teaser image of the 2020 Juke, ahead of its unveiling on September 3rd that will be followed by a world debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show later in the same month. (Updated 8/19/2019)

Neither picture isn’t very revealing, but they show that the crossover will have slender LED daytime running lights that reside above circular headlights. We can also see a more prominent grille which echoes the one found on newer models such as the Rogue and Murano.

Additional styling details are hard to make out, but it appears the crossover will be equipped with plastic body cladding and a silver accent beneath the grille.

Nissan didn’t say much about the Juke, but previous spy photos have shown it will follow in the footsteps of its funky predecessor. In particular, the crossover will have a rakish windscreen and muscular rear haunches. Other notable highlights include a sloping roof, a compact greenhouse and an evolutionary rear end.

The crossover is expected to be launched early next year and ride on the CMF platform that also underpins the Renault Clio and Captur. Engine options remain unconfirmed, but there could a turbocharged 1.3-liter four-cylinder with outputs of 138 hp (103 kW / 140 PS) and 158 hp (118 kW / 160 PS). Rumors have also indicated there could be a turbocharged 1.0-liter three-cylinder and a 1.5-liter diesel.

There have also been reports suggesting the company will offer a plug-in hybrid variant that uses a 1.6-liter petrol engine, an electric motor and a 9.8 kWh battery pack. This setup would reportedly enable the model to have an electric-only range in excess of 19 miles (30 km).

You know, if Nissan really wants to be quirky, drop an actual engine under the hood of the NISMO edition.

    • KAG25

Agreed, we don’t get hot hatch Nissans anymore, so hook it up.

    • MultiKdizzle

Any true performance head will not be cross-shopping the Juke. They just won’t.
Nissan would face sale in the low hundreds per year,

      • Ben

Not every enthusiast can fit a two door coupe into their life. People have to make choices that are responsible and reasonable. If you must get a vehicle in the class of the JUKE its nice to have the option to have something with a bit of pep or soul.

You don’t need to drive a Porsche, Mustang or BRZ like everyone else to be a “performance head”. Also, modification can turn almost anything into something worth while.

        • MultiKdizzle

I concur that not everyone can fit a coupe in their life.

Volkswagen GTI, Focus RS, Audi A3, etc. all balance practicality with fun.
But a crossover? And that too a JUKE of all things? Come on bro.

          • Ben

Hey man, I’m not saying its perfect. However in a world full of SUVs and crossovers, its more likely to happen than Nissan redesigning the 370z or GTR. You think they’d release a sporty hatchback right now?! If we’re going to have these little rollie pollie SUVs, then give me one with a decent engine, manual and wide tires.

          • Matt Jones

I love my JUKE Nismo RS, why be cookie cutter? I’m not chasing after big horsepower, or typical sport car looks. It’s 6 speed, under 3000lbs, turbo-charged and fun to drive for me. I don’t buy vehicle’s because I need people’s validation.

          • Lloyd Anthony D Peters

This is insanely pretty. Love everything you’ve done with it.

Choking on because of the “Not Everyone can fit in a Coupè” thing.
I’m 6ft7. Honestly. I looked at the Juke Nismo with a 6 spd to replace my Element. The headroom just wasn’t there for me.

If Nissan did bring this Juke over and offered a little Nismo one with AWD, 280-340HP, and a manual, I’d love it.

  • Mike Gonzalez

i’m so done with the ugly silver detail on the grill, when will Nissan get it’s ugly?

    • KAG25

you just have them wrapped and it changes the nose

  • KAG25

It really needs over 200hp motor, be a little Porsche SUV chaser

  • StrangerGP

I never understood the appeal of Nissan Joke, but I guess I’m not a woman.

    • no25

      Ah more sexist comments. Lovely.

      • Dennis James

It’s strange how nowadays women won’t even admit they are women anymore. Women have different hormone levels than men, it is a fundamental physical difference that cannot be ignored. It’s OK for women to be different and to feel different than men and to have different (not less) capabilities than men ! Women need to feel protected and that’s why tall cars and small or large SUV’s appeal to them. That’s not to say men don’t like those cars too, in many cases. What’s so sexist in this ? It’s the truth and it’s not offensive, because nature is not offensive.

        • no25

          lol what

          @okno25:disqus acts like a woman

          • no25

aw thanks, babe! you’re so strong behind a keyboard, ain’t ya?

        • Perry F. Bruns

          1. You don’t get to unilaterally declare whether something is offensive to others.
          2. It’s not nature we’re complaining about. It’s your chauvinistic perception of nature.

    • atomicbri

What does being a woman have to do with a Nissan Juke?

      • ME

Plenty of men drive them. I had one…just like the old fart car in your avatar.

        • Ben

          OH NO HE DIDN’T!!

      • exeptor

Just a guess, but what he pointed out is that the majority (this is statistically proven by Nissan itself) of Juke owners/drivers are women, so probably women like it more than men. Just an example – a friend of mine have one and when she bought it I said that it really doesn’t appeal to me, but for her this was the cutest car. Same story with many other people and cars which obejctively appeal more to women than men. I guess the way he wrote it might sound offensive to you, but the meaning behind it is nothing more than statistics and probably just the gender difference (of course not 100% of cases) in perception of beauty. My wife likes cute cars (I like them as well) and SUVs (I can’t stand them), buy I like sedans (which for her are boring) and aggressive sports cars (which for her are useless).

    • sidewaysspin

So men have to drive boring looking cars?

      • ascpgh

Go ahead, consider the convertible Rogue in that metallic dusty mauve color with the taupe roof too while you’re shopping.

It’s only what other people think of you because of your choices.

  • J. P.

Is it coming to the US?
