Unlike coupe SUVs, convertible ones haven’t taken off, yet that didn’t dissuade someone from imagining such a version of the new BMW X6 M.

That someone is XTomi, who injected a large dose of fugliness into the sports activity coupe by turning it into a sports activity convertible. And while it does look bold, we’re not quite sure that it’s good-looking too.

Luckily, this is just a rendering, as no one in their right mind could think that it has even the smallest chance of being produced, even in a very limited run.

Now, while those with Photoshop skills and enough spare time have started imagining the new X6 M in different shapes, BMW is getting ready to launch it. On this side of the pond, you will get yours next year, if you’re willing to spend at least $108,600 for the regular X6 M and $117,600 for the more powerful X6 M Competition. Both pack the 4.4-liter, twin-turbo V8 that churns out 592 HP in the former and 616 HP in the latter. By comparison, the outgoing X6 M has 567 HP and an MSRP of $105,700.

The more practical and (to us at least) better looking X5 M and X5 M Competition models get the exact same engine and have identical figures, and start at $105,100 and $114,100, respectively. Nonetheless, we have no doubt some will find the – admittedly sportier – X6 more appealing and will be more than willing to shell out the extra cash.
