Elon Musk has teased Tesla’s upcoming all-electric pickup truck once again, revealing that it will be akin to an “armored personnel carrier.”

The automaker even released an intriguing teaser image of the pickup a little while back, prompting enthusiasts around the world to try and imagine what the vehicle will look like. Asked on Twitter if the truck will resemble any of these renderings, Musk gave a firm ‘no’.

“Cybertruck doesn’t look like anything I’ve seen bouncing around the Internet. It’s closer to an armored personnel carrier from the future,” he responded.

That’s a curious statement to make as it suggests that Tesla won’t target the likes of Rivian, Ford, and General Motors with its upcoming pickup truck and may instead try to carve out its own niche in the market.

Tesla has previously suggested its pickup will handle just as well as a Porsche 911 (unlikely…), provide seating for six passengers, have upwards of 300,000 lbs (136,077 kg) of towing capacity, and more than 400-500 miles (645 – 800 km) of range.

Talking about the Tesla pickup earlier this year, Musk said “I’m personally super-excited by this pickup truck. It’s something I’ve been wanting to make for a long time. And I’ve been iterating sort of designs with Franz… It’s like I really wanted something that’s like super-futuristic cyberpunk. If there’s only a small number of people that like that truck, I guess we’ll make a more conventional truck in the future. But it’s the thing that I am personally most fired up about. It’s gonna have a lot of titanium,” he said.

The vehicle will be unveiled in November.
