A wide selection of safety systems is also included, like the 360-degree camera system with Moving Object Detection, reversing camera with predictive path technology, Intelligent Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Blind Sport Warning.

The 2019 X-Trail range starts at AU$29,890 (US$20,488) for the base ST, which packs a 2.0-liter petrol lump that generates 106 kW (144 PS / 142 hp) and 200 Nm (148 lb-ft) of torque, and is matched to a six-speed manual transmission. For the base diesel-powered variant of the mid-size SUV, which is powered by a 2.0-liter unit with 130 kW (176 PS / 174 hp) and 380 Nm (280 lb-ft) of torque, you will have to fork out at least AU$36,690 (US$25,149).
