Fisker has finally revealed the ‘California Mode’ of its upcoming Ocean electric SUV.

The mode, patented by Fisker, allows owners to open nine windows across the car’s exterior at the touch of a single button. This includes dropping all the side windows, opening up a panoramic sunroof (which is made up of solar panels) and dropping the rear window. For people looking to enjoy the fresh air without committing to a full-on convertible, this is certainly an intriguing way to do it.

All variants of the Fisker Ocean, with the exception of the entry-level model, will feature the California Mode as standard.

Earlier this month, Fisker confirmed that the Ocean will premiere at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in early January. It will feature an 80 kWh lithium-ion battery pack and be good for a range of 250 to 300 miles (402-483 km). It hasn’t provided us with any power or performance figures, though, just yet.

One thing we do know about the SUV’s powertrain is that owners will be able to add more than 200 miles (320 km) of range with just 30 minutes of fast charging. Fisker also claims that the presence of the solar roof can provide up to 1,000 miles (1,610 km) of free range per year.

Fisker will partner with Electrify America to provide owners with access to the largest open DC fast-charging network in the United States. Pricing details for the Ocean have yet to be announced.
