A Lamborghini dealership in Montreal, Canada, has been slapped with a lawsuit by a father and son. The plaintiffs claim that their white Huracan Spyder started turning yellow shortly after they bought it two and a half years ago.

The civil suit was filed in the Quebec Superior Court last month, reports CTVNews, after failed negotiations with the dealer. Everything started in July of 2017, when Calogero Caruso (the father) re-mortgaged his house to buy his son the supercar, stating that it was “his dream to own such a luxury vehicle”, but instead of living the dream, “it has been a total nightmare”, they claim in the suit.

Shortly after driving the Huracan Spyder off the lot, it allegedly started turning yellow, so they went back to the dealer, where chief John Scotti told them that a white car can look a bit yellow under natural light. Thus, they drove home and parked it in the garage, yet it allegedly continued turning yellow. Looking to fix the issue, the dealer offered to repaint it, but the plaintiffs refused, stating that it would reduce the residual value.

Tired of looking at what they claim to be a yellowing supercar, the two men returned it to the dealership in August of 2018 and continued to pay the mortgage, insurance and registration costs, as the dealer refused to refund them the purchase price. Now, they’re now seeking to get their money back – CA$366,662.21 (equal to US$276,505 at current exchange rates), and an extra CA$50,000 (US$37,705) in damages “for stress and inconvenience and loss of work days”.
