Fiat-Chrysler may have confirmed that the Ram TRX concept will come to life last year, but we haven’t heard much about it since then. Until now.

Citing unnamed inside sources, Allpar reports that the production version of the Ram Rebel TRX pickup truck will offer more than 700 HP from the same supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine found in Hellcat models and the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk.

The massively powerful unit will be once again paired to an eight-speed Torqueflite automatic transmission and a heavy-duty four-wheel drive system.

The same report goes on saying the final production version of the Ram TRX will stay true to the concept’s wild looks, despite recent rumors of watering down the concept’s design, boasting wider fenders, a more aggressive front end and more. Features like the spare wheel mounted on the bed, the beadlock wheels and the striking graphics will be present, albeit optional. When fully loaded, the Ram TRX will look almost the same with the 2016 concept.

The interior of the massively powerful Ram 1500 will also be loaded with FCA’s latest tech features, including the new 12-inch infotainment system.

The Ram Rebel TRX concept debuted back in September 2016 as a design study previewing the company’s most extreme half-ton truck ever. According to Ram, that concept was powered by a 575 HP version of the supercharged V8 and featured wider tracks, beefier axles and a coilover suspension with longer travel, among other.

There’s no information on when Ram is going to reveal the final production TRX truck yet but it should be coming sometime this year.
