Did you need more proof that the Lamborghini Huracan Evo is one of the fastest supercars of our times? You have come to the right place then, because you’re about to see it attack the apexes at the Magny-Cours Club.

With the Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R running shoes on its feet and MotorsportMagazine’s Nicolas Gourdol in the driver’s seat, it completed the course in 1:16.69. That might not mean much at a first glance, but the chart reveals that it was actually one tenth of a second faster than the McLaren 720S.

Review: 2020 Lamborghini Huracan Evo Is An Exhilarating Tech-Festooned Extravaganza

The former Nurburgring record holder, the Huracan Performante, did it in 1:17.17, and the Porsche 992 GT3 RS in 1:17.68. The McLaren 600LT, Corvette C7 Z06 and Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 were no match for the Huracan Evo, as they lapped the track in 1:17.84, 1:18.48 and 1:19.40, respectively, according to the following video.

As impressive as the unofficial lap time at the French track posted by the Huracan Evo may be, it pales next to other machines. For one, the Ferrari 488 Pista proved faster, needing 1:16.06, and so did the Porsche 911 GT2 RS and McLaren Senna, with 1:15.91 and 1:14.93, respectively.

Boasting improved aerodynamics, rear-wheel steering and other add-ons, the Huracan Evo keeps the 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10 behind the seats, which has been tuned to produce 640 PS (631 HP / 471 kW) and 600 Nm (442 lb-ft) of torque – identical to the Huracan Performante. At 2.9 seconds, the 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) is the same in both supercars, and so is the 325 km/h (202 mph) top speed.
