It’s not often that we see non-premium SUVs fitted with intricate-looking forged alloy wheels, yet both Kia and Hyundai have worked hard in recent years in order for their products to look more expensive than they actually are.

Take this 2020 Telluride SUV for example, seen here wearing a set of brushed gloss black Hybrid Forged HF-2 wheels by Vossen, measuring 20-inches in diameter. Do they work on the Korean people hauler? We’re inclined to say yes.

You can order your HF-2s sized 19″ through 24″ (no 23s though), in either Brushed Gloss Black or Tinted Matte Gunmetal as standard. However, you can also get them in a custom color, such as: Gloss Black, Gloss Gold, Textured Bronze, Satin Black, Satin Silver, Anthracite, Satin Bronze, Gloss Silver and Matte Black.

We like the dual-tone aesthetic of these brushed gloss black rims, as it works well with the car’s white exterior, black cladding and chrome inserts. In a way, the wheels’ split-spoke design even “meshes” (pun intended) with the Telluride’s grille. But that’s just one opinion, so feel free to disagree.

In either case, the 2020 Telluride’s composed design language seems to help if you’re trying to fit it with various custom wheels. And for an SUV that starts at just over $30,000 MSPR, it does a good job looking more expensive than it is.

Last year, we actually reviewed the Telluride and concluded that it offers “an impressive combination of comfort, style, spaciousness and luxury,” and while it’s not particularly exciting to drive, it rides really well and is packed full of modern tech. Of course, you’ll have to pay more than just base price if you’re hoping to drive away in a more impressive iteration.
