Last week, Skoda shared a big photo gallery of its first-ever all-electric crossover, the Enyaq iV.

Since the model is scheduled to enter production in late 2020, the official photos showed fully camouflaged prototypes. However, that did not stop the folks from Kolesa from digitally peeling the camouflage off Skoda’s all-electric SUV to give us a pretty accurate ahead-of-schedule look at its design.

The Enyaq iV without camouflage features predictable looks thanks to elements including the signature grille, horizontal headlights and taillights, as well as the clean and functional lines and surfaces. If it really looks close to what these renderings anticipate, the Skoda Enyaq iV will arguably be the best-looking SUV in the Czech brand’s portfolio.

Almost as long and wide as the Kodiaq, the Enyaq is lower, measuring 1,618 mm (63.7 in) from top to bottom. This should have a positive impact on its appearance and the sloping roofline will clearly make it easy on the eye too.

The lower height also means the center of gravity will be closer to the ground, which should translate into engaging driving dynamics. While we’re on the subject, the Enyaq iV will be the first rear-wheel-drive Skoda since the early 1990s when the Czech brand switched to front-wheel drive with the Favorit supermini.

Customers will be able to choose between three RWD models, the most powerful of which will deliver 204 PS (201 HP / 150 kW) to the rear axle courtesy of a rear-mounted electric motor powered by an 82 kWh battery. This will also be the longest-range model, covering up to 500 km (310 miles) on a full charge.

The range will be topped by the Skoda Enyaq iV RS all-wheel-drive model which will deliver 306 PS (302 HP) from two electric motors powered by an 82-kWh battery pack. The RS will be the quickest Enyaq, with Skoda quoting a 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) sprint of 6.2 seconds and 180 km/h (112 mph) top speed.
