Porsche offers the Cayenne and Macan, but there’s nothing quite like an off-road focused 911.

One customer of Delta4x4 feels the same way, so they asked the company to turn their 911 Carrera 4S into a rugged off-roader inspired by Porsche’s classic rally cars.

While the project hasn’t made the leap to the real world quite yet, the renderings suggest the car will be equipped with a new hood that features PIAA auxiliary lights. We can also see rugged fender flares which cover beadlock wheels wrapped in off-road rubber. Elsewhere, there’s a roof rack and tri-color strips that break up the black and white exterior.

Little else is known about the project, but Motor1 says the 911 will have a reinforced chassis and 9.8 inches (250 mm) of ground clearance. That’s more than the Macan which offers up to 9 inches (229 mm) of clearance with its optional air suspension set in high mode.

Since the model is based on the Carrera 4S, it could have a twin-turbo 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine that develops 444 hp (331 kW / 450 PS) and 391 lb-ft (530 Nm) of torque. When equipped with the PDK transmission and the Sport Chrono Package, it enables the coupe to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 3.4 seconds and onto a top speed of 190 mph (306 km/h).

Of course, it’s always possible the engine could be tuned to produce more power. That remains unconfirmed but, if you’re turning your 911 into a hardcore off-roader, it’s not much of a stretch.

Regardless, we’ll have to wait awhile to find out as the car isn’t slated to be unveiled until next year.
