Jeep has been teasing the return of the Grand Wagoneer and now we finally know  when it’s going to be unveiled – September 3rd.

The company is keeping additional information under wraps, but they released two new pictures alongside the debut date.

The first shows the model will have wide seven slot grille with chrome accents. They’re apparently housed behind a transparent cover which features small openings at the bottom.

The second picture seems to show the center console which has a glossy surface that reflects a controller with a knurled grip. We can also see a ramp-like structure with metallic trim.

Of course, these follow earlier teasers which showed the luxury SUV will have small American flag graphics as well as an upscale interior with wood trim.

As we have previously reported, the Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer will slot above the Grand Cherokee and be based on the same platform that underpins the Ram 1500. Engine options are expected to be shared with the truck and this means we can expect a 3.6-liter V6 that produces 305 hp (224 kW / 309 PS) and 269 lb-ft (364 Nm) of torque. There should also be a 5.7-liter V8 that develops 395 hp (291 kW / 400 PS) and 410 lb-ft (556 Nm) of torque.

The company has also confirmed plans for a plug-in hybrid variant and it’s possible the models could be offered with a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 that develops 260 hp (194 kW / 264 PS) and 480 lb-ft (651 Nm) of torque. If the latter engines makes the cut, it could compete with diesel-powered versions of the Chevrolet Tahoe / Suburban, GMC Yukon and Cadillac Escalade.

While the Grand Wagoneer will be unveiled next month, it will be awhile before it lands in dealerships. During a COVID-19 Operational Update, FCA revealed the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer won’t go into production until the second quarter of 2021.
