Ram has released the third chapter of the ‘Built to Serve Edition’ 1500 pickup trucks that honor the five land, sea and air-based branches of the U.S. armed forces.

The third installment offers an aeronautical-inspired theme with both Anvil and Billet Silver exterior colors offered along with a black interior featuring Light Diesel Gray accent stitching. The launch of the latest ‘Built to Serve Edition’ trucks coincides with the 73rd anniversary of the U.S. Air Force on Friday, September 18.

Besides the custom exterior paints, Ram ‘Built to Serve Edition’ trucks feature other unique features, including a United States flag and a “Built to Serve” decal on each of the rear quarter panels.

Additionally, the pickup trucks feature all-black grille and surround, black bumpers and black-bezel premium lighting, 20-inch aluminum wheels with a unique-to-the-edition Technical Gray finish and body-color wheel flares. Rounding out the exterior changes are black badges, black wheel-to-wheel side steps, and dual four-inch black exhaust tips.

Inside, the limited-run Ram 1500 trucks are accented with unique color stitching representing each of the five military branches: Light Frost, Light Ambassador Blue, Light Diesel Gray, Medium Greystone or Orange. Each of the deeply bolstered cloth and vinyl Sport front seats features ‘Built to Serve’-embroidered Velcro panels for buyers to apply their own patches – regimental, flags, name tapes or slogans.

Furthermore, the front seat back panels are covered with Pouch Attachment Ladder System/Modular Lightweight Load-bearing Equipment (PALS/MOLLE) webbing to attach additional equipment or pouches. Other standard features include a ‘Built to Serve’ instrument panel badge, Black Onyx Chrome interior trim and all-weather rubber slush mats.

Available on all body styles and all powertrains, the military-inspired package also brings the 4×4 Off-Road Group package, including all-terrain tires, electronic-locking rear axle, hill-descent control, multiple skid plates, tow hooks, and heavy-duty off-road-calibrated front and rear shock absorbers.

Production of the new batch of the ‘Built to Serve Edition’ Ram 1500 trucks will start next month at the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant in Michigan. The facility will roll out 1,000 models in Anvil and 1,000 models in Billet Silver, which will start reaching Ram dealerships in the fourth quarter of 2020.
