While some believed that an MCV version of the new-gen Logan might be ditched altogether, as such vehicles are not as popular in Europe as they once were, Dacia begs to differ.

This heavily camouflaged prototype of the new Logan MCV was captured near the Arctic Circle, and it should have a front end almost identical to the sedan that broke cover last year. That means the same prominent headlamps and grille, though the latter could have a different pattern.

The long-roof variant of the compact car, which is due towards the end of the year, has a bigger and more squared tailgate design that should make loading and unloading cargo easier. The taillights appear to be a bit smaller and in all likelihood, they won’t flank the rear window, as those are probably red stickers meant to trick bystanders. Elsewhere, the rear bumper is bigger and the rear license plate holder is still mounted on the tailgate.

The MCV will share its interior with the rest of the Logan lineup

The cabin design and build quality will be identical to the four-door model, and features such as the touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone integration, automatic climate control, electric side mirror adjustment, power door locks, power windows, multi-function steering wheel, USB port and push-button start will be included.

Underpinned by the CMF-B platform, the new Logan MCV is expected with the same engine lineup as its short-roof sibling, which includes a 65 PS (64 HP / 48 kW) 1.0-liter three-cylinder unit, a 90 PS (89 HP / 66 kW) 1.0-liter turbo-three and a 100 PS (99 HP / 74 kW) bi-fuel (petrol/LPG) three-pot. In the 2021 Logan sedan, the base lump is mated to a five-speed manual transmission, whereas the mid-range option comes with a six-speed manual or a CVT. The bi-fuel variant is offered with a six-speed manual gearbox.
