Mercedes-Benz has launched its smallest electric crossover, the EQA, in Europe, where it is priced from £40,495 ($55,221) in the United Kingdom and from €37,970.50 ($45,534), including local grants, in Germany.

In the UK, the EQA is available in 250 Sport guise, which comes as standard with 18-inch wheels, climate control, adaptive beams, reversing camera, Mirror Package, two digital displays, smartphone integration, ambient lighting and a host of driver assistance gear, including Blind Spot Assist, Active Lane Keep Assist and Active Brake Assist.

The EQA AMG Line trim level starts at £41,995 ($57,267) and adds 20-inch wheels, front sports seats, Artico leather and Dinamica microfiber upholstery, illuminated door sills, AMG floor mats, aluminum pedals, galvanized shift paddles behind the steering wheel and aluminum trim.

Available solely for this grade, the optional Premium package features 19-inch AMG wheels, a panoramic glass roof, keyless go, augmented reality navigation system, wireless charging pad and premium audio, and costs £3,000 ($4,091).

The Premium Plus package costs an extra £6,000 ($8,182) over the AMG Line, bringing all of the above and 20-inch AMG wheels, 360-degree camera system, adjustable damping suspension, Burmester audio, electrically adjustable front seats with memory function, gesture control and head-up display.

In Germany, customers get the EQA 250 with a standard electrically operated tailgate, 18-inch wheels, ambient lighting, luxury seats with adjustable lumbar support at the front, reversing camera, multifunction steering wheel wrapped in leather, and MBUX infotainment system and digital instrument cluster.

The EQA Edition 1 will be available for a limited period, costing an extra €8,520.40 ($10,218) over the 250 and adding 20-inch wheels, Night Package with AMG styling on the outside, blue decorative stitching, Pure Blue accents and back-lit trim panel.

The Advanced Package, Advanced Plus Package and Premium Package are available as extras.

The EQA 250 has a 188 HP electric motor driving the front wheels and a 66.5 kWh battery. It supports 100 kW DC charging and can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in around 40 minutes, while at an 11 kW wall box, charging it from 10 to 100 percent takes 5 hours and 45 minutes. The driving range of the EV is 423 km (263 miles) on the WLTP standard.
