We’re not quite sure how or why this keeps happening, but last Sunday, another driver careened off an interchange in Milwaukee. This comes after a similar incident happened not even two weeks before at the Zoo interchange, with this one occurring at the Marquette interchange.

ABC WISN 12 News reported that the crash happened at around 2:30 AM on February 14th, and the whole ordeal was captured on video by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation’s traffic cameras. In the video, we can see the car launch off a snowbank and plummet down to the ramp below, flipping over as it strikes another ramp on its descent.

Investigators believe the driver was headed down I-94 toward Madison when she lost control of the vehicle. She was suspected to be under the influence of alcohol, and was later identified as 27-year-old Kelce Brianna Gold. Astonishingly, Gold survived the incident and was arrested when police arrived at the scene, and was charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. She was subsequently transported to a hospital, in all likelihood to treat any injuries sustained by the crash.

As a result of both Gold’s crash and the one from the Zoo interchange, Milwaukee County’s highway director instructed their crews to go back and clear any remaining snow from the interchanges after their initial snow removal. While both drivers were miraculously able to survive, they deemed the snowbanks, which were determined to be the culprit for both accidents, too great of a risk to be left untended.
