Hyundai has started accepting orders for the facelifted i30 N in the United Kingdom, more than half a year after it officially premiered.

The front-wheel drive hot hatch, which challenges the likes of the VW Golf GTI, is offered in seven exterior paint colors, with updated styling, from £33,745 ($46,903), while the Fastback starts at £34,495 ($47,945).

This makes the hatchback £220 ($306) pricier than its German competitor, but while the new Golf GTI has a 245 PS (242 HP / 180 kW) and 370 Nm (273 lb-ft) of torque 2.0-liter TSI petrol engine, the 2021 i30 N is a bit more powerful. Its 2.0-liter turbo-four produces 280 PS (276 HP / 206 kW) and 392 Nm (289 lb-ft), 5 PS (5 HP / 4 kW) and 39 Nm (29 lb-ft) more than the pre-facelifted variant. The 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) sprint has dropped from 6.1 to 5.9 seconds, and top speed is limited to 250 km/h (155 mph). The engine is coupled to a six-speed manual transmission or an optional eight-speed dual-clutch.

Standard gear offered in the 2021 i30 N includes the 19-inch forged alloy wheels, glossy black side mirror caps, rear privacy spoiler, tinted windows, N-branded doorsills, black headlining, and leather-wrapped steering wheel, gearshift lever and handbrake lever. The 10.25-inch infotainment system with smartphone integration, reversing camera, wireless charging pad, and heated front seats with electric adjustment and extendable cushions are also part of the package.

Hyundai is offering the i30 N with a 5-year/unlimited mileage warranty that includes ‘Track Day’ coverage, a 12-year anti-corrosion warranty and a 5-year annual health check.
