Ford has announced the details of its “Off-Roadeo” trail driving experience. With four locations around the continental U.S., it will be free for participants who own a Bronco.

The experiences are designed for novice and expert drivers alike and Ford will host Off-Roadeos in Moab, Utah, My Potosi, Nevada, Austin, Texas as well as a fourth location in the Northeast United States. Those are set to open later this year, but for people who can’t wait, the first location is opening on June 28 in Horseshoe Bay, Texas.

“Bronco is more than a vehicle, it’s an outdoor brand, and the Bronco Off-Roadeo will help bring it to life,” said Lindsey Laporte, Bronco experiences manager. “It’s an immersive experience, and Bronco owners will come away with a greater level of off-road skills and a more thorough understanding of Bronco capability, all while being introduced to the Bronco Nation community.”

The courses have been designed by off-road experts like Vaughn Gittin Jr, King of the Hammers champion Loren Healy, and renowned off-road experience manager Bob Burns. The courses will start with a 90-minute hands-on tutorial designed to help owners get comfortable with the Bronco’s off-road tech like Trail Control and G.O.A.T mode.

Participants will get on-trail tutelage from guides who will also teach novices the fundamentals of off-roading, like etiquette and recovery techniques. Two and four-hour trail drives designed to challenge the participants’ off-roading skills (no matter how developed those skills are) will also be available.

This part of the experience is free for Bronco Sport and Bronco owners and reservation-holders, though they won’t be asked to put their own SUV to the test. Instead, they will drive two- and four-door Broncos, Bronco Sport Badlands and First Edition models operated by the Off-Roadeo.

Bronco owners are welcomed to invite their friends and family, though those participants will have to pay a small fee. If you don’t have a Bronco or a friend with one, you’re also welcomed to the event with the same fee. All participants are required to get themselves there and pay for overnight accommodations. Since the courses are being held in some of America’s most beautiful outdoor recreation areas, other activities (like kayaking, fly fishing, and rafting) are also available for a fee.

“The Bronco Off-Roadeo doesn’t begin and end with off-roading,” said Laporte. “Trail riding is at the heart of each adventure, but visitors can complement their trail drive with other outdoor activities. And they’ll learn about the importance of treading lightly and treating the trails and nature responsibly.”

Two- and four-door Bronco and Bronco Sport Badlands owners and order-holders get first dibs, though, and will be allowed to book a spot before anyone else. Those same owners will also get a $250 voucher that they can use on gear at the Off-Roadeo or apply toward having a friend join them for the experience.

Spots can be reserved at Broncooffroadeo.com.
